Helen and I worked together as she was our lead therapist. She carried out assessments and advised us on strategies and programmes to support the children's individual needs, and as a teacher I found her advice invaluable. She also saw the children 1:1 for therapy and the children loved going to her. She was always professional and dedicated to the children and we had a very successful collaboration.
Mrs Nunn, Teacher at a Speech and Language provision within a mainstream primary school in Kent
I have been privileged to have worked alongside Helen on numerous occasions focusing on children's communication and language needs, within a mainstream primary school.
Helen is a true professional ensuring each individual child she is assigned to, receives the best possible outcomes. Her dedication, commitment and passion for her work are all evident when witnessing her work with families and their children.
Carole Lambley, Inclusion Team, Solihull
I have had the privilege of working with Helen Farmer-Breffitt in a professional capacity for more than 5 years. She has worked in schools supporting children with Speech and Language difficulties through full assessment of their needs, providing language based targets and programs of work, giving further advice to class teachers and SENCo, regular monitoring pupils progress and updating targets accordingly.
Not only is Helen highly experienced in her field, she is passionate about her work and more importantly the needs of each individual child she has worked with. Over the years the service she has provided has had an extremely positive impact on the delivery of Speech and Language support in our school.
I feel that Helen will be able to offer an invaluable Speech and Language Service for children and families in your area especially as this vital resource is no longer funded in many authorities.
Mrs Nicki Perkins, Assistant SENCo, Solihull
We've always found Helen's input invaluable. Her expertise is impressive and her advice and guidance have been extremely helpful in enabling us to set up appropriate interventions for pupils with communication and interaction difficulties. The work she has done on a one-to-one basis with our pupils, including carrying out assessments, has also been very useful in helping us to establish targets for those children.
Secondary School SENCo and SLCN coordinator
I have had the privilege of working with Helen when she was the Speech and Language Therapist assigned to the school in which I work. Through working with her, not only did I gain a better understanding of the needs of the pupils in school with whom she worked, but my own professional development was enhanced. I am very sorry that Helen will no longer be working with us.
Year 6 Teacher / SENCo
Helen was a pleasure to work with. Her assessments were thorough and showed a clear understanding of the skills of the child. We were able to work together to develop a picture of the child and the context in which they were in. Appropriate interventions could then be developed based upon the child's development and needs, a shared understanding by all those involved and the environment they were in. Helen was always professional and her thinking insightful.
